Quinta do Pisão is located to the north of the municipality of Cascais and comprises about 380 hectares of area fully inserted in the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park.
Dedicated to agro-silvo-pastoral activity, this farm invites the visitor to walk along its trails, duly marked, showing the routine of a farm in this region. Along the various paths of the Quinta there are interpretative panels with identification of the built heritage, fauna and predominant flora.
The landscape is characterized by an extremely rich mosaic of vegetation that corresponds to a high diversity of habitats. Several species of wild fauna can be observed, namely the heron, the round-winged eagle, the genet, the fox, among others.
At Quinta do Pisão you can meet the Mirandese donkeys, animals of the Asinina de Miranda breed. These woolly donkeys have played a key role in supporting the management of the Quinta’s pastures. In addition to these animals, Quinta do Pisão also has some horses and a nucleus of Campaniça sheep and lambs.
You can participate in the interpretative tours at Quinta do Pisão, in donkey and horse rides, in the rental of manual and electric bicycles and also in the nature workshops.
At the Horta do Pisão you can find out more about what an organic garden is, how vegetables are harvested, when you can find them and much more. The Horta is open during the week from 9 am to 12 pm and on Saturdays from 9 am to 1 pm. Sundays is closed.
Access to motorized vehicles is not permitted, except for the car park, which is open between 9:30 am and 6:00 pm daily.
