Friday, from 19.00 to 20.30 Target audience M/16 years old Tenchi Tessen is an art of movement. Its purpose is to allow human beings to find harmony with themselves and with the world, between heaven (ten) and earth (chi). Created by Georges Stobbaerts, tenchi tessen can be compared to a hieratic dance, an art for the unity of the body, which is situated in the present moment, where the fan replaces the saber and confrontation gives way to conciliation. Sign-up on our website required for this event: https://curiousmonkey.pt/events/weaving-creativity-3/ During the workshop you will learn : -about different types of looms, weaving materials, and tools -how to warp a loom, tension, and techniques for starting a weaving -how to work with different yarn thicknesses -a variety of weaving techniques, appropriate with no previous experience -how to create fringe and texture how to finish and hang your weaving There will be time for planning your future pieces before we dive into warping our looms and weaving! Additional skills can be incorporated into the workshop so that you can be successful creating pieces you’re hoping to after the workshop. No previous experience necessary. Please bring scissors from home to use during the workshop. We will use 35 x 40 cm frame looms for the workshop. We can do this by reading a text or a newspaper article, a situation experienced by children or even images, videos. The resources can be diverse and must be adapted to the ages of the children with whom we are going to work. From there, conditions for dialogue are built, establishing some rules, such as, for example, to speak, we ask for the floor (we put our arm in the air). Haiku writing is an exemplary practice of debugging. But… what is haiku? What is evidence and what is mystery in this poetic form of Japanese origin? Haiku is beyond literature. It can be a way of life, a means of self-knowledge, a possibility for introspection and inner re-balance, a path to Nature. Let’s get to know Japanese poetry better, read and interpret some classic and modern haiku poems to, in the end, try to experience writing in this poetic way. Leonilda Alfarrobinha has a degree in Romance Philology and began studying Japanese language and culture in 1990. The haiku poetic form immediately attracted her attention. In 2003, she completed a postgraduate degree in General Oriental Studies and in 2007 she published a book of haikus in Portuguese, O Respirar das Flores.
