Workshop – Construction of Percussion Instruments and Collective Composition
Audience: 6 to 12 years old
Description:
This Workshop intends to develop the musical creativity of the participants and, at the same time, to alert to the importance of
recycling and sustainable development, through the construction of percussion instruments with recyclable materials.
The construction of these instruments complies with requirements such as simplicity, very low price, good sound and resistance.
After a first part dedicated to the construction of instruments, the workshop moves on to the second stage of the experience: The batucada.
In this stage, we will give life to the instruments built by the participants through the exploration of the most diverse sound possibilities that they can offer.
The first step is total experimentation, in a free, fun way and without any aesthetic or conceptual barriers.
Afterwards, the game continues with games and improvisations, this time aimed at establishing standards.
rhythms and sound textures that will serve as raw material for the construction of a musical narrative, focus of the last stage of the workshop.
In addition to the musical material extracted from games and improvisations, we are also going to create, collectively, a small
story to direct musical composition.
The final idea for this meeting is to create a small work to be presented to family and friends present.
The theme of the work is The Carnival of the Magic Flutist.
