Biggest name for the trumpet’s continued vitality and reinvention over the past decade – alongside Nate Wooley perhaps? – and also jazz and its possible escapes and advances in valor and bravery, Peter Evans is now starting a cycle of workshops guided by himself under the name of ‘Som Crescente’ in this house. With the aim of bringing together musicians from different backgrounds during an intense period of work and collaboration over two days with the assistance of a guest artist, Evans seeks to focus this time and space on creating new works, whether acoustic, electronic, improvisation , composition or in combination of several practices, with public presentation at the end of that season. Evans intends to present small ensembles of five to seven musicians, where each voice has its place, in an open collaboration regime. BS
For this fifth edition Peter Evans invites João Barradas. This edition will focus on the original music by Barradas and Evans, in addition to other improvised pieces. Communion and practice.
This event has the support of the US Embassy in Portugal.
