After the postponement caused by the pandemic, the musical Evita – which portrays the life of Eva Perón, artist and Argentine political leader – already has a new premiere date. The 100% original production will arrive in Portugal in March 2022, with two dates already scheduled: the first in Lisbon, on March 26, at Altice Arena, and the second in Porto, on April 9, at Super Bock Arena – Rosa Mota Pavilion. Evita, a production that will bring to the stage more than a hundred artists, has as protagonists Madalena Alberto (Eva Perón), Ricardo Afonso (narrator Che) and Mário Redondo (Juan Domingo Perón). The concert is produced by Armando Calado – artistic producer and lyrical singer, who, in 2019, produced, at national level, O Fantasma da Ópera – and is staged by Pedro Ribeiro and set design by Sofia Loureiro.
The semi-staged concert Evita centers on the meteoric rise of the young and ambitious Eva Perón, following her journey from the daughter of a very poor family to the most powerful woman in Latin America. The events of Evita’s life are presented musically and commented on by the show’s narrator, Che. This masterpiece by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber includes the classic themes “Don’t Cry For Me, Argentina”, “Oh, What a Circus”, “Buenos Aires” and “Another Suitcase in Another Hall”. Tickets – on sale with a 10 percent discount during this first month, that is, until November 17 – are now available and can be purchased at https://blueticket.meo.pt/Event/4973 and https: https://blueticket.meo.pt/Event/4973 //blueticket.meo.pt/Event/4974. Presentation of two more unavoidable productions
In addition to the debut of Evita, the year 2022 is also marked by the presentation of two more productions: We Will Rock You, scheduled for the summer of 2022, and Música no Coração, which takes the stage at the end of the same year. The dates and venues for the concerts, which will be presented in Porto and Lisbon, will be announced shortly.
