Ludovico Einaudi is preparing to present his latest work, Underwater, in Portugal, a special album as it marks his return to solo piano recording after two decades of exploring other musical possibilities.
The musician and composer is going through a particularly important phase of his career, having received fair applause from the public and critics thanks to the successful soundtracks for Nomadland and The Father, two films of considerable impact.
The celebrated Italian pianist has a special relationship with the Portuguese public, which always flocks to his performances. In this more intimate project, a concert of deep emotions is to be expected. The album reflects his experience during the pandemic:
“It came naturally, like never before. I had a feeling of freedom to let go of myself and let the music flow in a different way. There was no filter between me and the music that came out of the piano, it was all very pure. The title Underwater is a metaphor it is an expression of a very fluid dimension, without interference from the outside
