The “Torres Vedras – City of Books” project aims to encourage the citizens of our Municipality to participate in a festival linked to Literature, as well as to other forms of artistic expression that are linked to it by kinship relations, such as theatre, music , performance and illustration. This project seeks to demonstrate that books and reading are not confined to schools and libraries, opening up for this very reason to new partnerships and cultural spaces, mobilizing the Reading Community and creators, approaching neighbors and welcoming those who come from afar. In this 5th edition, we have a partnership with Memória Imaterial – Cooperativa Cultural CRL, in the construction of the program for this Book Festival, in the areas of theater, reading mediation, plastic arts and digital arts. Exploring an immense floor of books that tell stories and lives, it has a program that comprises a set of activities that we highlight: storytelling, meetings with writers, colloquia, training, theatrical performances, participated public readings, illustration exhibitions, artist books and micro-books, exhibition of cordel books, a meeting of performers and researchers dedicated to traditional and marginal literatures and the participation of creators in public sessions. , adult, senior and family. The event will be attended by more than 40 guests from Portugal, Brazil and Spain, in a total of 60 sessions for the general public, and multiple sessions for the school community.
