Ghoya is Bruno Furtado, a Cape Verdean rapper born in the old Bairro das Fontainhas, in Camarate. He started singing in 2002 and through krioulo rap he found the means to express his experiences in society, emotions and experiences in his daily life.
In 2007 he co-founded the group Mentis Afro and in 2009 he released his first solo album: “1 Vida So Ka Ta Txiga”, a release that brought him great prominence and status in the national rap scene. After a forced 10-year break, he returned to the studio to record “Erranti”.
The singer is currently involved in socio-cultural projects, activist movements and is finishing his next album of originals. Some of these new songs, as well as the classics, will be heard in the Village Underground Lisboa room, starting at 10 pm, in a concert that will certainly be memorable.
