In this rush against time, we are going to benefit from a brief pause. Open a book. Read a story. Savor the words. Let a tale take hold of your imagination and reflect on those emotions that are awoken. Take your time and more will be revealed in our short story club.
Once a month, one story in Portuguese is the starting point of a casual encounter to talk about authors, books, and the stories they inhabit.
17 May: Mário de Carvalho
In May, we will stopover between the marvelous and the fantastic, departing from Lisbon. Portuguese writer Mário de Carvalho tells us the “Definitive story of Professor Pfiglzz and his strange companion”, from the book “Contos da Sétima Esfera” (Porto Editora), his first work. He started out as a lawyer, and it took ten books for Mário de Carvalho to introduce himself as a writer.
Language: The reading and discussion will be in Portuguese, but speakers of all languages who want to practice Portuguese are welcome.
